Serving at the highest elective office in a country is expected to pay off even at the expiration of the tenure. In Nigeria, the entitlements and allowances of public officials are usually shrouded in secrecy but here’s what former Presidents receive.
Former Heads of States and Presidents are entitled to maximum of 4 armed Police and 1 DSS personal for their security, for life.
Former Presidents and Heads of State are also entitled to 3 vehicles that the government will replace every 4 years.
All former Presidents and Heads of State are entitled to a diplomatic passport, for life.
In order of precedence in protocol, all former Presidents and their Spouses take 3rd position after the serving President and Vice President
All former Presidents and Heads of State and their immediate family get free medical care in Nigeria, paid treatment abroad where necessary.
All former Presidents and Heads of State get 30 days paid vacation within and outside Nigeria at the expense of the Federal Government.


All former Presidents and Heads of State are entitled to a fully furnished office and a fully furnished 5 bedroom house anywhere in Nigeria.
