Buhari says there can only be one head of a country, and at the moment, he is the one

President Muhammadu Buhari has dismissed speculation that he is being controlled by power brokers within his administration.

Buhari in an interview with The Osasu Show, described the reports of overbearing influence on him by some individuals as rumours being spread by online news medium, Sahara reporters. The president said he is charge of his administration, adding that there can only be one head of a country, and at the moment, he is the one.

Responding to a question on reports that Alhaji Mamman Daura is the true president, while he’s the unofficial vice-president”, he said: “I don’t know where they get their news from.

“I stood for the election, I visited every local government in Nigeria, I travelled by road, by air, and so on, and we had one of the most credible election. So whoever feels he has lost somehow is his own problem, I have no problem.”

Shortly after the interview was granted, Aisha Buhari made headlines for insinuating that her husband’s government had been hijacked.

Buhari responded by saying his wife belongs to the kitchen, the living room and the other, but presidential aides warned that the president’s response was a joke which should not be misconstrued.

In a related development, Aisha Buhari, has said she is interested in her husband’s success barely two weeks after she criticized the appointments of some persons in his government, The Sun reports.

Mrs Buhari made this known on Wednesday, October 26, at Beneshiek, headquarters of Kaga Local Government in Borno state, in what looks like a subtle response to the heat generated by her interview to BBC.
