The Peoples Democratic Party faction led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi has called on INEC to postpone the Ondo state governorship election pending the determination of the suit before the Supreme Court, which necessitated the indefinite adjournment by the Appeal Court.
In a statement on Saturday, the party called on the federal government to avoid using organs of the government as a tool to subvert the will of Nigerians.
It asked Nigerians to hold the federal government, INEC, APC and the Jimoh Ibrahim group for any consequences of the Appeal Court decision.
The judgment slated for delivery on Friday, Nov. 18 was put off by Justice Ibrahim Saulawa following a motion filed at the Supreme Court by the Ali-Modu Sheriff faction of the PDP, asking the court’s panel to disqualify itself.
The Appeal Court adjourned indefinitely the case on the leadership tussle in the party between the factions led by Makarfi and Ali-Modu Sheriff.
